Many people abroad have anchovies just on pizza or cooked fresh. This Italian homemade spaghetti sauce recipe with anchovies and tomatoes goes a step further.
If you don't like much anchovies, you must know that they cannot be ignored if you want an authentic Italian flavor. Because this is the only ingredient that gives to this sauce a memorable taste.
However, for a less intense flavor I suggest you to use anchovies packed in oil instead of salted anchovies since they are much too salted.
I don't suggest at all to use for this sauce anchovies paste, although there are other Italian recipes that benefit from the use of anchovies paste, but this sauce is not the case.
Further more it's an easy spaghetti sauce recipe that can be done in about 20 minutes.
1. Start adding in your pot sauce the 2 Tbsp of extra virgin olive oil an the glove of garlic and cook until lightly, salt lightly.
2. Pour the tomato puree.
3. Add 2 anchovies fillets in oil drained and chopped.
4. Stir and add a few leaves of parsley.
Cook for about 15 minutes and then the sauce is ready.
